Pawan’s poetic journey began in 2020 with the publication of his debut collection, Sulanga Thuru Agissaka (සුළඟ තුරු අගිස්සක), published by Santhawa Publications. This remarkable work, rooted in poems previously published in newspapers, earned him the prestigious Best Poetry Manuscript Award at the North Central Art Festival in Sri Lanka in 2019.Building on this success, Pawan’s second poetry collection, Walakulu Nimnayata Enna (වලාකුළු නිම්නයට එන්න), was awarded the Best Poetry Manuscript Award at the Godage Manuscript Competition in 2021. These achievements cemented his place as a significant voice in contemporary Sri Lankan poetry. Pawan’s poetic works reflect a deep connection to his cultural heritage while exploring universal themes of love, nature, and human resilience.
As a lyricist, Pawan’s creativity shines through his evocative and memorable songs. His debut song, Thara, released in 2024 in collaboration with Ridma Kalubowila and Chamara Fernando, became a viral sensation in Sri Lanka. Years of dedication and collaboration culminated in a song that resonated deeply with audiences.In addition to Thara, Pawan has a growing catalog of unreleased songs, with plans to release more in 2025. His work as a lyricist demonstrates his ability to blend poetry and music seamlessly, creating experiences that leave lasting impressions.
Pawan’s talents extend beyond the written word and into the world of filmmaking. Currently pursuing a degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Film and Television, he has directed several music videos, including the trending video for Thara. .
